im Allen recently wrapped production on his feature film directorial debut, the independent comedy “CRAZY ON THE OUTSIDE”, in which he also stars opposite Ray Liotta, Sigourney Weaver, Julie Bowen, Jeanne Tripplehorn, J.K. Simmons and Kelsey Grammer. In the film Allen plays a newly released prisoner who tries to persuade his single mom parole officer (Tripplehorn) to date him. His struggle to rebuild his life is further complicated by a loving sister (Weaver) and her sarcastic husband (Simmons). The film is scheduled to be released in 2009.
Allen also recently completed shooting the comedy “THE SIX WIVES OF HENRY LEFAY”. In the film Tim plays a man whose wife and five ex-wives fight over his will when they believe he is dead. Elisha Cuthbert stars as his daughter; Jenna Elfman, Andie MacDowell and S. Epatha Merkerson also star. Allen will also reprise his role as Buzz Lightyear in “TOY STORY 3”, scheduled for release in 2010.
Allen was last seen on screen in the Sony Picture Classics’ drama “REDBELT”, which was written and directed by David Mamet. The film tells the story of Mike Terry (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a Jiu-jitsu master who has avoided the prize fighting circuit, choosing to instead pursue a life of honor and education by operating a self-defense studio in Los Angeles. Terry's life is dramatically changed however when he is conned by a cabal of movie stars and promoters. In order to pay off his debts and regain his honor Terry must step into the ring for the first time in his life. Allen plays a troubled action star with marital problems who meets Terry when he is getting pummeled in a street fight. The film also stars Rodrigo Santoro, Emily Mortimer and Joe Mantegna.
